Span 60 (Sorbitan Monostearate)

Span 60 (Sorbitan Monostearate) is a nonionic surfactant, appearing as a white to pale yellow waxy solid at room temperature. It is slightly soluble in water but easily dissolves in organic solvents. Its molecular structure contains hydrophilic hydroxyl groups and lipophilic long-chain fatty acids, providing excellent emulsifying, dispersing, and stabilizing properties. Span 60 is insensitive to pH changes, chemically stable, and highly compatible.

2. Used as W/O emulsion explosive, preparation agent of textile, emulgator of artesian well weighted mud and producing of food and cosmetic, dispersant in beaded paint, stabilizer of titanium dioxide, insecticide wetting agent and emulgator in pesticide, cosolvent of oil production, antirust of slushing oil, lubricant and softening agent of textile and leather.

1. Insoluble in water, dispersed in hot water.

2. Used as emulgator and stabilizer in food, pesticide, cosmetic, beaded paint and plastic industry, antistatic, softening and oil agent in textile industry.

3. Used as antidrip agent of PVC, EVA, PE membranes, dosage: 1.5-1.8% in PVC, 0.7-1% in EVA.
