Polysorbate 20 Cosmetic Oils Stabilizer Polyoxyethylene 20 Sorbitan Monolaurate

Tween 20 (Polysorbate 20) is a nonionic surfactant with the chemical name polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monolaurate. It is prepared by the condensation of sorbitan monolaurate under alkaline conditions and appears as a yellow or amber clear oily liquid with an HLB value of 16.7. This oil-in-water (O/W) emulsifier is easily soluble in polar solvents such as water and ethanol, but poorly soluble in mineral oil and light petroleum.
